American born Generation
Solomon Bosserman
1797-1878
Solomon was born on 19 April 1797 in Liberty Township of York (now
Adams) County Pennsylvania, the third child of Michael and Esther (Eiker)
Bosserman. The family
were members of the Tunker/Dunker Church both on his father and his mother's
side. He married Esther "Polly" Eiker on 21 May
1812. She was a daughter of David M. and Nancy (Zimmerman) Eiker. Esther was born
on 10 Oct 1795 in what
is now Carroll County Maryland but then was still a part of Frederick County. One
may think that these two were born quite a distance from each other (because
they
were born in different states), however it was really quite close.
Just across the
state line from which each lived very close.
In 1833 Solomon along with his wife and children migrated from Adams County
Pa to
Adams Township of Darke County Ohio. Making the
move at the same time was
Solomon's brother-in-law John Hershey with his wife Hannah and their
children.
