TROY HISTORY
ORAL HISTORIES OF THE 1913 FLOOD
Olive Gillis - 1913 Flood memories
Oral history can only go back to the lifespan of the
oldest living interviewees we work with. Thanks to the foresight of stewards in
the early days of The Troy Historical Society, we have in our possession the
recorded, living memories of actual survivors of this horrific event, thankfully
one which will never be repeated. The area's local establishment of The Miami
Conservancy District and its flood control structure precludes the occurrence of
another such tragedy." Mike Robinson (1960 Troy High School
