Victim Of Crash Dies This Morning From Head Injury

Carl Boehringer Fails to Rally From Operation To Remove Blood Clot-Glenna Thompson Still is Critical Condition

Carl Boehringer, 21, living halfway between Covington and Pleasant Hill, died this morning shortly after 8 o'clock at the Greenville Hospital, from injuries received in an accident Sunday night.  An operation performed yesterday to remove the blood clot on his brain was unsuccessful and the victim failed to rally from his injuries.  At the same time Glenna Thompson, 17, also of Covington, lies in the Greenville Hospital unconscious form a fractured skull which she received in the accident . She was riding in the front seat with Boehringer at the time.
Hospital attaches said that she had regained consciousness for a short while this morning but is still in grave condition. she lapsed into a state of coma again although following an operation yesterday hope for her recovery was held.  The two were injured in a head-on auto accident near the Greenville Country Club at seven P. M., Sunday in which five other persons were hurt. They were riding in a car, with the girl's father, James Thompson, and younger sister, Betty June Thompson, aged 5 years, which collided with another auto in which five members of the Imperial Male Quartette, Gettysburg, Ohio, were traveling to Union City for a concert.   Miss Thompson's father and younger sister, escaped with only minor cuts and bruises which were dressed at the hospital.  Two members of the Gettysburg quartet, Walter Martin, 25, Bradford and William Palsgrove also of Bradford were confined at the hospital but their injuries are not considered serious. Both suffered cuts about the head and face.  Two other quartet members Arthur Eubanks, Gettysburg, and Vernon Jones, Laura, Ohio were also given first aid treatment at the hospital. They sustained minor head abrasions.  The Country Club is located on the Greenville-Piqua road about three miles east of Greenville. It was reported that drivers of the two cars were blinded by reflection of headlights from wet pavement. It was raining at the time of the accident.  Surviving Carl Boehringer are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boehringer, three brothers, Ralph, George and Harry Jr. and one sister, Mary. Also he is survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Johnston, besides other relatives and friends.  Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed but will be announced tomorrow.

Carl C. Boehringer

Carl C., son of Harry and Mary Boehringer was born in Covington on November 30, 1909; died at the Greenville hospital at 7:15 o'clock on Tuesday morning, April 15, 1930; his age being 20 years, 4 months and 15 days.  Along with the parents the following brothers and sister survive: Ralph, George, Harry Jr., and Mary. A large number of uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends are saddened over the unexpected death of this young man.  His death was caused by an automobile accident which occurred near the Country Club, East of Greenville late Sunday afternoon. He was taken to the Greenville hospital where special medical attention was given, but he never regained consciousness, death followed on Tuesday morning.  Carl was the oldest of five children. He was a fine physical type of young manhood, strong and robust. He was devoted to the farm life, and was unusually dependable for a young boy. His sudden and unexpected death brings sorrow to the family, relatives, and his young companions.  May each one seek earnestly the Heavenly Father who is abundantly able to comfort and strengthen.
