Sunday
night, an elderly man, who had the appearance of a wanderer, applied to Marshall
Tobias, for sleeping in a place in the lock-up.
The request was granted. On
Monday morning he was found in his cell, a corpse.
An empty morphine bottle was found by his side, and it is surmised that
he took an overdose of the drug. His
identity was discovered by searching his pockets.
His name was Gillspie and he hailed from Piqua.
His relatives were notified and in the afternoon, the remains were taken
to Piqua for interment.
