Aaron Landis Dies Wednesday Evening
Aaron Landis, life long resident of this vicinity passed peacefully to his reward Wednesday evening at 8:15 o'clock at his home on So. Harrison St. Mr. Landis has been in declining health since the death of his wife, Barbara, which occurred October 28, 1937. He was confined t o his bed for the last nine weeks and suffered a stroke of paralysis last week. Had he lived until June 1st he would have reached the advanced age of 82 years.
Mr. Landis was a retired farmer and had lived all of his life in this community where he was a highly respected citizen and a splendid example of Christian manhood. His quiet manner and kindliness to others endeared him to all who knew him. His influence was one of goodness at all times and it can be truly said, that one couldn't help but being better for having known him. He was a very faithful member of the Church of the Brethren.
His survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jesse Rasor of South Harrison Street, two sons Howard, who with his wife moved into the home of his parents more than a year ago and with the assistance of his wife and sister, tenderly cared for the aged parents, and Charles of Hamilton. One son, Frank was killed in an automobile accident about five years ago. Several grand children also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence at 338 So. Harrison St., followed by service at the Church of the Brethren at 2 o'clock with Rev. G. L. Wine and Rev. Chas. F. McKee, of Dayton officiating. Interment will be made in Highland Cemetery in charge of W.E.
Routzahn.
