John A. Swisher Answers Summons
John A. Swisher passed away at 6:00 o'clock Wednesday evening at his home on West Monument Ave., after an extended illness of four years, the result of a stroke of paralysis. He was a retired farmer and has resided in Pleasant Hill for sixteen years, having moved here from the Laura community. He was a highly respected citizen and has lived a long and useful life of 75 years. He was very much interested in his family and found great enjoyment in his grandchildren. He patiently bore his many years of suffering and expressed his readiness to answer the call of his Master.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Clina, two daughters, Mrs. Edith Dunn of Circle Hill and Mrs. Eva Trost of Pleasant Hill, two brothers, Henry of Washington, D.C., and George of
Casstown, one sister, Mrs. Alice Herkins of Laura and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Christian Church of which he was a faithful member. Rev. W. F. Kershner will officiate and interment will be made in Greenville Creek Cemetery.
