Mrs.
Joanna Beard Dies This Morning
Mrs.
Joanna Beard, wife of Calvin Beard passed away very suddenly this morning about
7:00 o'clock at the home of her son, M. D. Beard, of School Street, Bradford.
Despite
her advanced age of 81(?) years, Mrs. Beard was in splendid health and very
active, only last evening attending a play given in her home town.
Cerebral hemorrhage is thought to have been the cause of her death which
comes as a shock to her family and friends.
She was born in Pennsylvania but has lived in this vicinity most of her
life.
Besides
her husband, she is survived by one son, M. D. Beard, and three grand daughters,
Dorothy Beard, Mrs. Earl Maurer, and Mrs. Phillip Carter, all of Bradford.
Funeral
services will be held Friday at 2:00 o'clock at the late residence.
Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining Greenville Creek Church
of which she was a faithful member.
