A. BROWN
Luther
A. Brown was born in Wells County Indiana, on Nov. 8, 1884, died Feb. 15, 1938,
age 55 years, 3 months, 7 days. On
Nov. 13, 1907 he was united in marriage to Mellie Frey Bollinger and at the same
time adopting her son Chalmer and giving him a father's love and care which task
he did so nobly and today the son remarked 'He sure was a good pal.'
Another
son Hershel was born to this union leaving to mourn a devoted wife, two sons, a
daughter-in-law and two grand children, Gloria Ann and Richard, one brother Carl
of Rochester, New York, one sister Nellie O'Rouke, of Marion, Indiana, two
step-sisters Mrs. Lucy Farmer of Middletown, Ind., and Mrs. Ida Merritt of
Poneto, Ind., and a number of other relatives and friends.
In the fall of 1913 he united with the Church of the Brethren under the
leadership of Rev. Geo. Flory and
remained a faithful member to the end.
He
was a devoted husband father, the greatest joy of his life was to have his
little family get together in his home and in the early hours of the morning of
Feb. 15, while they were all gathered around his bedside his spirit took flight
back to the God who gave it, leaving a vacant place in this family circle but
their loss is Heaven's gain.
