Mrs. Minta McDowell Burton, 94, of Casstown, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Stouder Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient for 10 days and seriously ill for the past 11 days. Mrs. Burton was the widow of J. S. Burton, who was a fruit tree salesman and later founded Burton's Hilltop nursery. Mr. Burton died in 1937. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Casstown Methodist church. Rev. Jerry Worthman will officiate. Burial will be in Casstown cemetery. Mrs. Burton who was known to her admiring relatives and friends as "Aunt Mint", was born in Miami county, the daughter of the late George and Mary Estey McDowell. She was a member of the Casstown Methodist church and for many years was active in the Women's Society of Christian Service there for many years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Emerson (Mary) Littlejohn of Christiansburg; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Lucy) Woodrow of Pitsburg, O.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the last of seven children. A son, Howard, preceded in death. Friends may call at the late residence from noon Sunday until noon Monday when the body will be taken to the church for services.

Final rites for Mrs. Minta Burton were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Casstown Methodist church with Rev. Jerry Worthman, officiating. Burial was in Casstown cemetery. Pallbearers were: Charles Stewart, Charles McDowell, Wilbur McDowell, M. P. Lusk, Robert Fuller and John Fuller.
