Friends here will be saddened to hear of the death of Ward Hildebrand, well known farmer in the vicinity of Oran, 89 years of age, which occurred Monday afternoon at his home near Oran. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was caused by complications incident to old age. Mr. Hildebrand was born west of Piqua and had been a farmer all his life in the vicinity of Oran and Houston. He was united in marriage to Harriet Branson and to this union seven children were born all of whom are living except the oldest, Mrs. Edward Pope of Dawson who preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Hildebrand had celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary several years ago. Those who survive him are his widow, Mrs. Harriet Hildebrand at home; six sons and daughters, Mrs. Oscar Babylon, and Earl Hildebrand, Piqua; Clinton Hildebrand, Shelby county; Mrs. Clara Boyle, Dayton; Mrs. Ruth Staley of near Quincey and Harley Hildebrand of Dawson. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Oran church with burial in the cemetery at Houston.

Robert F. Ward Hildebrand
R. F. Ward Hildebrand, 89, prominent resident of this county, died at his country home one mile south of Oran Monday afternoon at three-thirty o'clock. The aged man had been in ill health for the past six years and for the past month his condition had been critical, suffering with a complication of diseases. He was born in Miami County and had spent his early years there. For the past fifty eight years he had resided at the present Hildebrand farm where his passing occurred. The deceased was united in marriage with Miss Harriet Brandson on December 27, 1871, and they were the parents of seven children, six of whom survive with his widow and are Mrs. Lulu Babylon, Earl C. Hildebrand, of Piqua, Mrs. H. J. Staley, of Quincy, Mrs. Frank Boyle, of Dayton, Harley Hildebrand, Dawson, and Clinton Hildebrand, of Turtle Creek township. One daughter, Mrs. E. C. Pope passed away four years ago. Nine grand children and eight great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Christian church at Oran, of which the deceased was a member. Burial will be made at Houston.
