The death of Mrs. Alice Caven Hill, widow of Willis S. Hill, occurred on Tuesday evening, May 24th at 6:30 pm, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert C. Duer north of Piqua. Mrs. Hill had been in failing health for the past year and a half, being afflicted with heart trouble. Mrs. Hill was born on July 1, 1853, and was 74 years of age at the time of her death. She was born near Fletcher and had made her home in and about that vicinity all of her life. She is survived by seven children, her eldest son, George, having preceded his parents in death. Four daughters, Mrs. Nora Brown and Mrs. Grace Scholl, both of Connersville, Indiana, Mrs. Katherine Bailey, of Decatur, Illinois, and Mrs. Martha Duer are left to mourn their mother and three sons, John, Guy, and Leonard, all of whom reside near Piqua. She also leaves, seventeen grandchildren. Mrs. Hill was a fine example of an upright and Christian Life and she will be sorely missed by her bereaved family and her many friends. The funeral arrangements will be announced later, but it is especially requested that all floral offerings be omitted.
