Citizens of West Milton and vicinity were astonished Tuesday upon learning that early in the day Mrs. Elizabeth Gordon had been found dead, lying on her kitchen floor of her home on North Main Street, West Milton. She had arisen to prepare the morning meal when death had overtaken her. She had been about her everyday activities as usual and had been to church services on Sunday morning. She with her daughters Miss Mary Gordon, one of the West Milton Record Publishers, Miss Helen, of the First National Bank and son Harold, have lived in Milton for several years since the passing of the husband and father, Robert Gordon. Other surviving children are Mrs. Chas. Cashner, Mrs. Herbert Worley, Mrs. Clyde Roberts and Ralph Gordon all living in or near Milton, Miss Ruanna Gordon, city nurse of Dayton and Miss Clementine Gordon also a nurse. A daughter Hazel died several years ago. There are several grandchildren here and other relatives in Pennsylvania where the family resided prior to their removal to West Milton around twenty years ago. Mrs. Gordon was a woman who, with all of her children, had won and held the highest esteem of all who know them. She was the queen in a very pleasant home and its sweetest presence was "mother". The family has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. Funeral arrangements have not been made but will probably be held Friday, due notice of which will be given later.
