    Rebecca Clay Varner

    Rebecca Clay Varner,  youngest child of Carl and Elizabeth Clay was born in Covington, Ohio April 13, 1846; and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Edwin Geons of Covington, Ohio, February 15, 1932. Aged 87 years, 10 months and 2 days. December 9, 1872, she was united in marriage to Ephriam Varner. To this union twelve children were born, eight of whom preceded her to the eternal shore. Her husband passed away April 1, 1917 at the age of 65. Early in life Rebecca united with the Methodist Church. She has always lived a consistent Christian life. Besides the daughter with whom she made her home, she is survived by a son William Varner of Shepherd, Michigan, and two other daughters, Mrs. Sallie Thompson of Bradford, Ohio, and Mrs. Albert Sheets of Covington, Ohio. She leaves 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as a great number of other relatives. Her body will be laid to rest by the side of her husband in Highland Cemetery. The family desire to express their sincere appreciation to all those who have assisted in any way during their sorrow.

    Home so peaceful and fair.
