Dies Friday
Mother of Local Undertaker Succumbs to Sleeping Sickness
Mrs. Hannah J. Miller, mother of Mr. Geo. W. Miller passed away at 8:00 P.M. Friday March 22nd, at her home near New Madison, of sleeping sickness at the age of 92 years.
Her husband J.F. Miller and two daughters Alice and Elizabeth preceded her in death. Surviving are four sons and four daughters, Mrs. Laura Falgg and Lyman O. of Dayton, Mrs. Dora Cox of Rushville, Indians, Joe of Greenville, Mrs. Mayme Gartrell, Mrs. Mollie Grubb, and Jacob of New Madison, and Geo. W. of Covington. Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Until recently Mrs. Miller had been enjoying good health for one of her age. She passed away at her homestead where she has resided since 1880 and is widely known and well respected. She was a devout member of the Universal Church in New Madison.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock from the late residence with Rev. Wood in charge.
Interment will be made in the Green Mound Cemetery at New Madison.
