John Killworth
Answers Summons
Mr. John Killworth, prominent Covington resident and retired school teacher passed away at the Covington hospital Wednesday evening following an extended illness. Mr. Killworth had been in failing health for several years suffering from heart trouble and had been confined to his home on N. High Street for the past 4 months. He submitted to an eye operation last Thursday from which he was recovering satisfactorily but suffered a heart attack last evening which resulted in his death which occurred at 7 o'clock. He was 7? years of age. Mr. Killworth received his high school education in the Covington school and later attended college at Ohio Northern and Ohio Wesleyan. He followed the teaching profession for several years and was rated among the outstanding teachers in Miami County where he taught in several of the rural districts. The deceased was a member of the Congregational Christian Church where he was always active in church affairs as long as his health permitted. For years he had charge of the missionary activities and was an active member of Class 13. He was also affiliated with the I. O. O. F. Lodge. Surviving is one brother, Mr. Joseph Killworth of Covington. Mrs. Mae Cox, Mrs. C.M. Himes, Mrs. R. W. Himes, Mrs. W. A.. Richeson and Mr. M. B. Ullery of Covington and Mrs. Mina Rogers of Piqua are cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Routzahn funeral parlors at 1:30 and at the Christian Church at 2 o'clock with Rev. H. P. Rogers officiating. Friends may view the body of the deceased at the Routzahn funeral parlors. Interment will be made in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Walter Routzahn.
