Bradford Man Called In Death
Mayor James H. Stoltz passed away at his home in Bradford at 9 o'clock Sunday morning at the age of 72 years, following a brief illness. His death which was attributed to a blood clot came unexpectedly. He had only been ill for a couple of days and his condition was not thought to be serious. The deceased was born in Greenville and came to Bradford to make his home a year after he married Miss Allie Bierley. During his residence in Bradford he was marshal for 10 years and was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. In 1891 he established his home in Logansport, Indiana where he was connected with the police department of the Pennsylvania Railroad. At the time of his retirement from the force in 1925 he held the rank of captain. In 1928 he moved back to Bradford among old friends and relatives where he spent the remainder of his life. Active in the public affairs in Bradford, he was elected mayor in 1933. Mr. Stoltz was a fine citizen, standing for the better things of his community. He was affiliated with the Masonic and Easter Star Lodges of Bradford. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Allie Stoltz. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
