Shuttleworth Rites This Afternoon
Funeral services were conducted for Mr. William Shuttleworth this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Brethren Church in Pleasant Hill. Rev. Chas. Silvey of Dayton assisted by Rev. S.J. Adams officiated. Mr. Shuttleworth passed away at his home southwest of Covington, Friday evening at 5:30 o'clock following an extended illness of more than a year's duration due to cancer. Prior to his death he was bedfast for 18 weeks and for several weeks was a patient at the Piqua Memorial hospital. He was 65 years of age. The deceased was born in Darke county but since the age of 14 years he has been a resident of Miami County. He resided at his farm where he passed away for the past 7 years. He has devoted the most of his life to the occupation of farming. He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Greenville. Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Cora Shuttleworth are 4 children, Ms. Clara Hutton and Mrs. Bertha Wick of Arcanum, Clarence of Dayton and Samuel of Uhrichsville and 3 brothers, John of Covington, Joe of Pitsburg, and James of Arcanum. Twelve grandchildren also survive. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of E. E. Geeting.
