Killed By Train Saturday
Accident Happens In Marion, Michigan As He Steps Across Tracks For A Drink- Rites Wednesday At Brothers Home. William M. Taylor was instantly killed Saturday evening at Marion, Michigan, when he was struck by the pilot of a locomotive. Mr. Taylor who has been working in the community near Marion, together with his brother S. H. Taylor, had accompanied the Hingleman family to the village Saturday night to do some trading. While awaiting the family to finish their shopping Mr. Taylor decided to get a drink of water from a well across the tracks. He did not notice the oncoming train until it was to late to escape. He made an effort to jump, however, but the pilot of the locomotive struck him under the right shoulder blade, throwing him about 20 feet. His back and right lung were crushed. Funeral rites will be held at the home of his brother Sam Taylor, west of Covington Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock. Burial will be made at Houston cemetery.
