Anna Kauffman
Anna Kauffman daughter of John Henry and Eva Maria Schlosser was born in Sidney, Ohio June 4th, 1864 and with the exception of a few years spent her whole life in Covington. On March 8th, 1888 she united in marriage to John Franklin Kauffman, and for more than forty years they shared their joys and sorrows of life together, until separated by his death on October 14th, 1930. To their union were born two children, J. Wilfred, and Estella who died in infancy. Early in her life she became a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and after her marriage united with the Christian Church to which she remained a loyal and active member as long as health permitted. In her illness she was sustained by her faith in Christ. After a few months of sickness and suffering the silver cord of life was broken and her soul passed on to Him who gave it on March 11, 1935, having lived seventy years, 9 mo. and 7 days.
Surviving besides her son J. Wilfred and wife are a brother J.P. Schlosser of Jackson Center and a host of friends.
"Her suffering ended with the day,
Yet lived she at its close,
And breathed the long, long night away,
In statue like repose.
But when the sun, in all his state,
Illumed the eastern skies,
She passed through glory's morning gate
And walked in paradise."
