Mr. J. A. Bradford
Answers Summons
Saturday evening just as night was drawing near Mr. J.A. Bradford, last Civil War Veteran of our community answered the summons to a higher service and passed from a long and useful life to his reward. Mr. Bradford had reached the age of 93 years on the 13th day of last June having faithfully served his country in the Civil War and a most highly respected citizen of our community where he was a member of the Langston G.A.R Post and a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bradford's devoted wife preceded him in death 6 years ago at such time Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller came into his home and have tenderly cared for him endeavoring to make each day a happy one. He is survived by two nieces, several cousins and Mr. and Mrs. Miller and daughters Betty Ann and Hannah Jane besides neighbors and friends. The funeral services with military honors were conducted this afternoon at his home with Rev. Donald E. Mitchell officiating. Interment was made in Highland Cemetery in charge of George W. Miller.
