Farmer Dies Early Today
Covington friends and relatives were saddened early today by the news of the death of James Brinkman which occurred this morning about 5:30 o'clock following an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Brinkman's death came as a shock to his family and friends as he was only ill a very short time. About two weeks ago he suffered a similar attack from which he recovered and had been enjoyed his usual health. He was 36 years of age. Mr. Brinkman and his family formerly resided on a farm northwest of Covington and moved to their present residence 2 miles west of Greenville off the Union City road two years ago. He is widely known throughout this community. Immediate survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tressie Brinkman and a son Benjamin:18, his father Mr. Henry Brinkman; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Carrie Deeter of Covington, Mrs. Bertha Billingley and Harry Brinkman both of Greenville. Funeral services have been arranged for Sunday afternoon and will be conducted at the residence at 1 o'clock and at the Presbyterian Church of which he was a member at 2 o'clock. Rev. Donald E. Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be made in the Highland Cemetery.
