Wife of Raymond Holfinger Dies
Funeral rites for Mrs. Ruth Bartel Holfinger, 53, wife of Raymond Holfinger, route 1, who died suddenly at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the St. John's Lutheran church in Covington, Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Born in Casstown, July 1, 1895, she was the daughter of John Bartel and the late Mary Morrin Bartel, and a lifelong resident of Miami County. She graduated from Covington schools in 1913 and later attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Adams, Troy and Mrs. Emma Jean Coate, West Milton; her father, John Bartel and step-mother Mrs. Sadie Bartel of Covington; one brother, Paul of Troy; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Kropp, and Mrs. Charles Sayers of Troy and Mrs. Forrest Robbins of Tipp City; and three grandchildren. The body will be taken to the Holfinger home near Covington Thursday noon and friends may call until the hour of the service Friday at the Lutheran church of which she was a member.
