Mrs. Edna Banning Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Edna Mae Banning, 74, of 114 W. Water, widow of John Henry Banning, was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Piqua Memorial Hospital. She had suffered with a coronary condition for two years. Born in Shelby County Oct. 8, 1884, she was the daughter of John and Anna Wise Brown. She was married at Lockington to John Henry Banning, who died Jan 27, 1945. She attended Grace Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George (Nellie) Arnett, Mrs. William (Gladys) Chester, and Mrs. Sarah Edwards all of Piqua: three sons, Arthur and Harry Banning, both of Piqua, and Leo Banning of Lima; a half brother, Clifford Burch of Piqua, 37 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Two daughters and two sons preceded her in death. The Rev. Thomas Smith will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jamison Furneral Home with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
