Edna Mae Klopfer
Edna Mae Klopfer, daughter of John and Elizabeth Minnich, was born Sept. 25th, 1884 on the old Minnich home south of Covington and where her early life was spent. On January 28th, 1903 she was united in marriage to Louie Klopfer. The new home was started on the old Klopfer homestead west of Pleasant Hill where she lived until a few years ago when the family moved to Pleasant Hill, where she departed this life on April 20th, 1927. To this union was born four children, Margaret, who died in infancy, J. C., Paul and Virlin, all at home. Mrs. Klopfer united with the Church of the Brethren in 1907 and always lived a faithful and consistent life; was devoted to the task assigned to her by her Loving Lord and for a number of years served as a teacher in our primary department and Supt. of the Cradle Roll. Her one desire to live was that she might be able to win some of her near and dear ones to the Master; during her short life she was able to win seventeen souls to Christ thru her personal effort. The home has lost a faithful companion and a fond mother, the church and Sunday school has lost a devoted worker and the community has lost a Christian friend. While earth suffers thru her departure, Heaven rejoices, for earth's loss is Heaven's gain. And like Paul the Apostle of Christ, "For her to live was Christ, but to die is gain." She leaves besides her family, a mother and father, two sisters, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
