Jonathan Ogden Edwards died at his residence near the Edwards Mills, Wednesday, August 4th, at 12 o'clock, ?m. The funeral was from his late residence, Friday, August 6th, at 3 o'clock, interment at Riverside Cemetery. He was born August 13th, 1825, near Binghampton, N. Y., but was a life long resident of Ohio, as his father moved to Poland, Mahoning Co., Ohio, when he was ten years old, and five years later moved to Youngstown, where Mr. Edwards lived fifty-two years, coming to Troy four years ago. May 19th, 1859, he married Joanna Witter Allen, of Ellsworth, Ohio. He was a descendant of Jonathan Edwards, the great Presbyterian Divine, and was a life-long Presbyterian. He was a strong republican, and living through the marvelous changes and growth of the country during the past fifty years, his influence was on the side of right. About a year ago he had a stroke of paralysis, from which he never recovered and which was the cause of his death. He leaves a wife and three children, Ogden, of this city; Allen, of McGuffey, Harden Co., O., and Mrs. Alexander Gordon, Jr., of Pittsburg, Pa.
