Franklin M. Perry, the son of John W. and Melinda Perry, was born on a farm northeast of Covington, June 6, 1852. He passed out of this earthly life May 22,1931, his span of life was almost seventy- nine years being spent in Covington.
He was married to Rhoda T. Brooks October 27, 1874. They had two children, Ollie O. and Emma E. The latter preceded the parents in death by several years.
After more than fifty-four years of happy married life, his wife, Rhoda T., passed from life July 30, 1929, thereafter, Mr. Perry lived alone in his South High Street home.
He was a man with a fine intuition of system, order and cleanliness. He was a lover of the beautiful in music and flowers. His flower garden was a great source of pleasure to him and to it he devoted many hours each summer.
He was a firm believer in the Church and all the things for which the church stands. His faith was unwavering and this faith gave him poise and courage to face life's battles alone after the passing of his wife.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Ollie Nicodemus of Edenton, O., Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Nicodemus and Roscoe and Royal Nicodemus, grandchildren of Dayton; and Mrs. Otto Boling, grandchild of Tampa, Florida; one brother, W. H. Perry of Wall Street.
