Wife Of Local Merchant Dies Sunday Evening.
Mrs. Margaret Shawver's Called To Rest - Had Been In Failing Health For Long Time - Had Lived Entire Life In This Community. Mrs. Margaret Shawver, beloved wife of Glenn F. Shawver, passed peacefully into rest, Sunday evening at 6:25, at her home on N. Pearl St. ending an illness of several years duration. Mrs. Shawver was born in Covington spending her entire life in this vicinity. In her early girlhood she confessed Christ in the Church of the Brethren, where her parents were devoted members. She afterward transferred her membership to the Christian Church where she remained in fellowship until the end, never losing interest, though shut away for a time from active service. She was also a member of the Pierian Club, the P.T.A. and an afternoon social club of ladies. Many friends were made by Mrs. Shawver through her friendly and untiring interest in others, who now gather to weep with her loved ones in their sorrow. During the two years of her decline in health, she continually lent herself to others, always avoiding any discussion of her own serious condition. Many friends and neighbors visited her finding her always looking forward to brighter days. She will be sadly missed by her husband and only son, Robert, to whom alone she gave her love and care in the home. Often in their solicitude for her health, they sought to spare her the burdens, but she never allowed any thought that she had given up her care of the home. The few times she wept was when she considered her possible inability to share with them, her place in the home and to continue with her husband in the education of their beloved son. In the last few weeks Mrs. Shawver had also the loving and tender care of her youngest sister, Miss Anabel Musser, of Piqua, who lived for a short time in the Shawver home after the loss of their father. Mrs. Shawver is also mourned by two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Pullis, of Piqua and Miss Viola Musser, of Cincinnati, together with her youngest brother, Mr. Weber Musser, of Piqua. Both the father and mother and one brother, Charlie, preceded Mrs. Shawver in death. Two nieces, Miss Frances and Laverna Manson of Piqua with Mrs. Josephine Hill, an aunt, remain to mourn, with many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from the Christian Church with Rev. O. S. Thomas in charge. Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery. George W. Miller, funeral director.
