Finley Strong
Finley Strong, the second of a family of eight children who came to bless the union of Jacob and Lucy Ann Strong was born on April 10th, 1848 in Mifflin County, Pa. and passed away at his home near Osgood, Ohio, on January 28th, 1929, having reached the age of 80 years, 9 months and 18 days.
When a young man his parents moved to Ohio and settled in Miami County and he has since resided in this section of the state.
In 1878 he was united in marriage to Lorhetta Asher and to this union two sons were given, Harry Strong of near Versailles, and Judson, who died in childhood.
On May 23, 1895 he was united in marriage to Emma Arnett and to this union one daughter, Mrs. Ida Stump, was given.
He is survived by his wife and one son Harry, and one daughter, Ida, and three grand children. Also two brothers, Samuel Strong, of Covington and Sidney Strong of Pleasant Hill; and three sisters, Mrs. John Williams and Mrs. Rebecca Cassidy of Troy and Jamima Strong of Pleasant Hill. One brother and one sister have preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Strong, conducted by H. C. Marlin, and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery under direction of the Marker Funeral Directors of Versailles.
