Remains of Former Covington Resident Will Be Brought Here for Interment.
Word was received here by Mr. George VanAtta last evening that a former brother-in-law, Rev. P. H. Beery of Modesto, Calif. passed away at his home in that city yesterday. Rev. Beery resided in Covington for a number of years and was a prominent minister and worker in the Church of the Brethren here, being one of the most active at the time the present Church was erected. He was also an evangelist of note. Not only Covington people knew him for his kind deeds but he was recognized throughout the United States. He leaves to mourn his departure his widow, Kathryn; two sons, Wilbur and Clarence both residing near Modesto, two daughters, Dr. Geno Beery of Modesto and Dr. Helen Hollinger of Philadelphia, Pa., three brothers, Noah of near Dayton, Rev. Jesse Beery of the South Central part of this state and Isaac of Markle, Ind. besides a wide circle of friends. His remains will arrive in Covington on Thursday, Dec. 27th and funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, December 28th at the Covington Church of the Brethren at 2:00 o'clock.
