Aged Local Resident Passes Away Today
Conrad Neth, 81 year old Covington citizen passed away this morning at about 9:00 o'clock.
He was one of 11 children, of parents who came from their native country Germany and settled in Covington in the Early Pioneer Days.
As a young man he began work for George Raugh who operated a Tannery on Main St. at the rear of the commercial hotel.
In later years he formed a partnership with A. Routson and G. W. Miller under the firm name of Routson, Miller and Neth in the Dry Goods business, later became associated with Drees, Miller and Neth in the Dry Goods business at the present location of the Henry Drees Dry Goods Store.
In his early life he was a member of the Lutheran Church, later an active member of the Methodist Church and was a trustee until the time that Congregation disbanded her and the Church building sold to the Mennonites.
Mr. Neth early in life joined the Odd Fellows Lodge in which Fraternity he was an active member up until the time of his death.
He leaves his wife Rachael, daughter Glena who resided at the home and sons Forest of Covington, Charles of Cleveland, and Roy recently of Dayton besides a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Conrad Neth
Conrad Neth, son of John George and Rosina Neth was born in Mossingen, Wurtemberg, Germany, on November 30th, 1847. He departed this life December 17th, 1928 at the age of 81 years and seventeen days.
Mr. Neth was one of ten children who came to America with their parents in the year 1854. For three months they lived in Albany, N. Y., then came to Covington, Ohio, where Mr. Neth has resided since. Conrad was the next to the youngest of a large family of sixteen children, all of them and his parents, have preceded him in death.
On June 25th, 1871 he was united in marriage to Rachel Ann Thompson of Covington. To this union were born four children, Forest Lester Neth of Covington, Charles L. Neth and LeRoy Neth, of Cleveland, and ??ena Neth of Covington.
Besides the widow and the children, there is a grandson Conrad Neth, of Cleveland.
As a young man Mr. Neth began work in a grocery owned by Mr. John Smart. He also worked for Mr. George Raugh who operated a tannery on Main St.., at the rear of the Commercial Hotel.
In later years he formed a partnership and went into the Dry Goods business under the firm name of Routson, Miller & Neth.
Later he became associated with Drees in the Dry Goods business, under the name Drees, Neth & Co., at the present location of the Henry Drees Dry Goods Store.
In early life he was a member of the local Lutheran Church, later an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and was a trustee until that Congregation disbanded and the church building was sold to the Mennonites.
For many years and up until the time of his death, he was an active member of the K. of P. Fraternity.
Mr. Neth was a devout christian man, as all who knew him well could testify. Industrious and unassuming he was ever busy and greatly interested in the tasks he chose for his life's work and he performed every task with ability and conscientious integrity.
He was greatly devoted to his family, a helpful and loving companion and father. Long life was given him, as is promised all who do the will of God.
Mr. Neth could say with the bearded sage, who pondered over the mystic page, "This life's too short to do the things I've planned, triumphs and visions I'll have to leave on land." He could also say with the cheerful......cut off...........
