H. E. HARTZELL, 84,
RETIRED FARMER, STRICKEN SUNDAY
H. E. Hartzell, 84, retired farmer, died at his residence on the Old Troy road at 12:20 pm Sunday, death following a year's failing health. Born near Gettysburg, Darke county, April 1, 1861, he was the son of Calvin and Katherine Kindell Hartzell. He had resided on the farm on the Old Troy road for 48 years. He was married March 23, 1886, to Miss Sarah Branson, who survives him. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was affiliated with Warren Lodge No. 24, F & AM. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Hartzell; a daughter, Mrs. J. Warren Heckendorn (Charlotte) of Piqua; a son, Ross C. Hartzell of Cincinnati; a nephew, H. A. Johnston, and a niece, Mrs. Martin Norton, both of Piqua. Two sisters, Mrs. Mollie C. Hartzell and Mrs. Loella Johnston, preceded him in death. The Rev. John C. Inglis will conduct services at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the residence with burial in Forest Hill cemetery. The body was taken to the Warren funeral home and will be returned to the residence Tuesday when friends may call after 2 pm.
