Death claimed one of the oldest residents of Miami county Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock when William M Dorsey passed away at his residence in Culbertson heights. He was 90 years of age.
For the past three years he had been steadily failing in health and for the last year and a half was confined to his bed. Death was attributed to creeping paralysis and old age.
Mr. Dorsey was born in Shelby county and moved to Troy about 21 years ago and has resided here ever since. He was married to Sarah A Moon in 1855, who preceded him in death in 1892. The deceased has one of the best war records of any citizen of this count y, serving four years in the Union army. He was a member of the Coleman Post GAR. He was also a member of the Charity Chapel Christian church of Shelby county.
The deceased is survived by five children: Mrs. Josephine Clark, of Sidney; Mrs. Sarah J Kaiser, of Sidney; Mrs. Mary E Purdy, of Piqua; Thomas F Dorsey, Omaha, Neb; and James B Dorsey, of this city. Besides his five children he leaves 24 grand children and 14 great grand children.
Funeral services will be held at the home of James B Dorsey, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery. Rev A E Kemp will officiate.
