Charles V. Knoop, the son of Henry C. Knoop of Casstown, went to San Antonio, Texas, a year ago in hopes that the mild climate of that region would check the ravages of consumption from which he was suffering. Two weeks ago, Roy Campbell telegraphed to the young man's mother to come down immediately as her son was much worse. She set out immediately for San Antonio and last week they started for home, arriving in Troy, Saturday Evening. They remained at the home of Joshua Routson until Sunday Afternoon when they went to their Casstown home. The young man gradually sank until Tuesday evening, when he died in the happy consciousness that his last moments had been with his parents.
Mr. Knoop was 26 years old and a young man of exceptional intellectual parts. His many noble traits endeared him greatly to a large circle of friends and he will be greatly missed by them. He was a graduate of the Troy High School and for the following two years, was a student at the Ohio State University, but was compelled to discontinue his studies on account of ill health.
The funeral will be held at the Lutheran Church in Casstown, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.
