A WISE AND KINDLY FRIEND IS TAKEN
ALEXANDER GUSTAVUS EIDEMILLER
At the time this newspaper is facing one loss in the departure of
a kindly and co-operating friend, it experiences another in the passing
of A. G. Eidemiller, former county recorder. Mr. Eidemiller was a man of high
character and many will be the tributes paid to him for his good qualities
and his civic enthusiasm, but this newspaper remembers him more distinctly
as one who was ever helpful and considerate and whose assistance was not
motivated by any desire except to be helpful and to assist in securing
accuracy. Few if any Miami countians of this generation had a wider acquaintanceship
throughout the county and as a consequence he was often in a position to
learn early of happenings of public interest. During his service as county
recorder he could always be depended upon to pass along news items which
came to his attention and was always helpful with information and suggestions.
His passing is a loss to West Milton and the county and this newspaper
feels it also has suffered a loss.
