WARREN B. KEMP FUNERAL TO BE SUNDAY AFTERNOON
FORMER TROY COUNCILMAN TO BE BURIED AT FLETCHER
FOLLOWING RITES AT LATE HOME
Funeral services for Warren B. Kemp, 57, who died at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home near Fletcher, will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. Emery Frits of the Fletcher Presbyterian church, of which the decedent was a member, will be in charge of the rites and burial will be made in Fletcher cemetery. Fellow members of the local Knights Templar with which he was affiliated, will serve as escorts at the funeral services and members of the Franklin lodge, No 14, F&AM, will conduct ritualistic services at the grave. Mr. Kemp, a well known Miami countian, was born on the farm on which he died. After receiving his education at Brown rural school, he spent a few years farming with his father, the late Franklin Kemp. Later he married Miss Grace Buchanan, who along with a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Rogers, and a granddaughter, survives him. Mr. Kemp later resided with his family in Lima, Piqua and Troy, living for more than 20 years here, returning to the farm only two years ago. While in Troy, the decedent was employed in various capacities. He served in the local post office for more than six years, becoming a clerk there in June of 1913 and serving until May 1915, when he was appointed a city carrier. He carried mail until Jan 31, 1920, when he resigned. He was later employed as a meat cutter, truck driver and Hobart Manufacturing company employee. During his life in Troy, Mr. Kemp was active and intensely interested in fraternal and civic affairs. He was especially active in the work of the Masonic order here, being a member of the blue lodge, chapter, council, Coleman Commandery of the Knights Templar, and Antioch Shrine, Dayton. He served as a councilman for the fourth ward in the city council for three years, from January 1930, to March 1933, and when he left Troy two years ago to return to the farm where he was born, he resigned his position in the council with great regret. The decedent spent the last two years of his life farming. Wednesday night he suffered attack and while the condition was grave, his death was unexpected, for it was believed he would rally after given medical attention.
