Carl Bowers
Carl Bowers, son of George and Serena Bowers, was born northeast of Troy, Ohio, July 29, 1880, and died in the hospital at Piqua, Ohio May 26, 1930 at the age of 49 yrs. 9 months and 27 days. He was from a family of six children and was the first of the number to be taken. His mother also survives him. His father died about twenty-three years ago. On January 11, 1905 he was married to Miss Eva Bartle, and to them were born five children. Two of the children preceded their father in death. Those who survive the father are, Mrs. Edith Elbert of Piqua, Ohio, Miss Ruth Bowers of Cleveland, and Mary Jane who is still at home. There is also one grandchild, Virginia Lee Elbert. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bowers lived on the farm following that occupation up until about eleven years ago when they moved to Covington where they have ever since lived. Mr. Bowers loved his home and could almost always be found there when not at his work, so that he will be greatly missed there. He was a member of the Junior Order of American Mechanics having his membership in the Piqua Lodge of that order.

How kind his precepts are!
Come, cast your burdens on the Lord,
And trust his constant care."
