Mr. Frank Smith
Mr. Frank Smith passed away at his home east of Covington, at 1:25 o'clock. Mr. Smith has been in very poor health for the past two years and for sometime it has been thought he could not survive. He was seventy-four years of age and was born just a mile and a half east of Covington, living all his life in this community. For thirty-two years he was the tenant on the Shuman farm, living the remainder of his life on the farm where he passed away. Mrs. Alice Adams Smith, his wife is left with four sons and four daughters, to mourn his loss. The children are Mrs. Charles Colbert, Piqua, Mrs. Ben Franke, Harry, William, Grover and Lee with Mrs. Ray Ingle and Miss Marie Smith all of Covington. Funeral services will be held from the Church of the Brethren, Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, meeting at the home at 1:00 o'clock. Rev. C. F. McKee will be in charge of the services. Burial will be made in Highland cemetery. George Miller and son Funeral Directors.

Benjamin Franklin Smith
Benjamin Franklin Smith, son of Frederick and Mary Ellen Smith was born June 15, 1853 and passed into eternal rest November 2, 1927 at the age of 74 years 4 months and 17 days. He was the oldest of a family of twelve children, two brothers and three sisters, have gone before him. In the fall of 1881 he was married to Alice Adams, into this union ten children were born. Two sons preceding their father in death, Harley, the oldest child of the family, at the age of three and an infant child. Frank, as he was always known, spent his entire life in this community living on what is known as the J. R. Shuman farm, for thirty-two years moving from there to a mile east of Covington where he spent the rest of his life.
Those who survive to mourn his death are his wife, four sisters, Mrs. McMakin and Mrs. Amanda Killian, of Piqua, Mrs. Addie Buckholder of Eden, O. and Miss Minerva Smith of Troy. Two brothers, Lewis of Gorin, Mo., and Edward of Covington. Four sons, Harry, William, Grover and Lee and four daughters, Mrs. Della Colbert, Mrs. Elizabeth Franke, Mrs. Clara Ingle and Miss Marie Smith all living in or near Covington. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one grandchild preceding him in eternity.
