Miss Alta Mae Kendell Called In Death
Miss Alta Mae Kendell passed away at the home of Mrs. Mellie McDonnel, Saturday Aug. 6th, where she had gone to remain over night. Miss Kendell though having been in delicate health, had returned from the home of her sister in Indianapolis and seemed in her usual health, Saturday evening. She was living in the home of her father, the late Madison Kendell who passed away about a year ago.
Miss Kendell was forty-nine years of age and had lived in Covington most of her life. The first stroke of paralysis came a little after midnight and in less than an hour, she had suffered the third stroke which took her life.
The father and mother, Madison and Mary A. Kendell, preceded her in death. Two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ed. Hall, Indianapolis, Mrs. William Holloway, Chicago and Oliver Kendell, remain to mourn her loss. Five nieces and four nephews also remain. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home on N. High Street. Burial was made in Highland cemetery.
