In the year 1881 she was united in marriage to Adam Peiffer, to this union two children were born: Clint Peiffer and Mrs. Cleo Ruble both of Covington. The husband preceded in death some nine years ago, having met accidental death. The following brothers and sisters are living: Charles, Edward, Frank and David Babylon, Mrs. Fashnor, Mrs. Mattie Peiffer, and Mrs. Minnie Fisher. There are four grandchildren living. Along with these near relatives, there are many other relatives and friends who mourn her rather sudden departure.
The deceased was baptized in infancy. She had lived in the South end of Covington for a period of nearly forty years. During the greater part of her life she enjoyed good health. She loved to work in her garden and yard, and often assisted others in time of sickness. For some three weeks she had suffered from acute indigestion, from this she had not recovered but was not thought to be in immediate danger. She suddenly expired on Thursday morning.
Mrs. Peiffer was a hardworking, industrious, home loving woman. She was a kind and loving mother and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all, and especially in the home where she lived. May God comfort each of the relatives. We have here on earth no continuing city, we seek no one to come.
"Who knows how near my end may be?
Time speeds away and death comes on.
Now swiftly, oh how suddenly,
May death be here and life be gone!
My God, for Jesus' sake I pray
Thy peace may bless my dying day."
