William Sherman Swigart
Services for William Sherman Swigart, 83, former Greene Countian, who died Monday night at his home on the LeFevre Rd, four miles west of Troy, will be held at the Irvin Funeral Home, Troy, Thurs. at 3 pm. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Troy. The services will be in the charge of Rev John Moore of the United Mission Church, Osborn, and Rev. William Brown, pastor of Casstown Lutheran Church. The son of Isaac and Elizabeth Boyd Swigart, he was born near Byron Aug. 10, 1866. He moved from Greene Co to Miami Co. 20 years ago and was engaged in farming until 2 years ago. He was a member of the Byron Evangelical and Reformed Church and a former member of Harries Station IOOF Lodge. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Hollopeter Swigart, who he married Sept. 15, 1892 and ten children as follows: Charles at home, Mrs. Elsie Taylor near Alcony; Mrs. Sylvia Cyphers of Enon; Ralph Swigart and Mrs. Ethel Morgan, Yellowsprings; Isaac Swigart of Clifton; Mrs. Josephine Davis near Christiansburg; Mrs. Mary King near Rossburg, George, and Howard of Troy. There are 28 grandchildren.
