William Edward Green
William Edward Green was born on a farm in Newton Township, near Pleasant Hill, Ohio, on September 25th, 1872, and passed away at Stouder Memorial Hospital, May 22nd, 1930, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 27 days.
He was one of three sons born to the union of William and Phoebe Green. One son Harvey of Akron, Ohio survives.
On November 6th, 1893, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Shell and to this union three sons and one daughter were given, Harry of Pleasant Hill, Ray, of Marion, Charles, of Troy, Mrs. Clifford Apple of Troy. Eleven grandchildren also survive him.
Mr. Green spent his entire life in Newton Township and Pleasant Hill and was widely known. Most of his life was spent on the farm but following the death of his companion five years ago, he retired and for the past two years has been in ill health, only a month ago he was persuaded to take up his residence with his daughter and was removed to the hospital only the day before his death.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day.
Earths joys grow dim, its glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see.
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
