Our City Looses One Of Its Brightest Youths (Troy)
Burgess Baird died in the dawn of his career but there is much to remember and not a little to admire in his brief life as school boy and college student. Burgess graduated from Troy High School in 1897 and selected the Ohio State University as his Alma Mater. He studied for two years at the Ohio State University, but at the close of the second year there were indications of falling health. Upon the advice of his physicians went to Stanford University in the milder climate of California.
Burgess Baird, son of Maurice E. and Kate Burgess Baird, born June 22, 1879 at Troy Ohio, died at Leland Stanford University, California, Feb 2, 1900.
