John Smith Hears The Master's Call
John Smith, 68, passed on to his long home Saturday evening at approximately 7:00 o'clock at the Piqua Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months duration. He resided with his wife at their home on the Strong road, southeast of Covington where he spent most his entire life.
He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church and took great pleasure in serving it whenever he could. He is survived by his widow, son-in-law, Charles Holfinger, and grandson, Harold Holfinger, who made their home with the Smiths since the death of Mrs. Holfinger a year or more ago. Besides these, two brothers, George of West Covington, Harry of Greenwood, Mo, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Whitman of Pleasant Hill survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Lutheran Church, Rev. Stroup in charge. Interment in Highland cemetery. Routzahn Bros., Funeral directors.
