JOHN N. COMPTON DIES WEDNESDAY
After an illness of three months John Nelson
Compton died at five thirty o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Arthur Yates, 604 West Water street.
Mr. Compton, who had been a resident of Piqua for many years, was
born on January 19, 1845 at Lima, Ohio, and was 84 years of age at the time of
his death.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Sadie E. Compton of Piqua, four
daughters Mrs. Charles Lang of Kokomo, Ind., Mrs. C. W. Orr of Tippecanoe
City, Mrs. Walter Bain (sic.) of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Arthur Yates of
Piqua; a son, Bert Compton of Dayton; four grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Yates, 604 West Water street, at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in charge
of Rev. C. L. Gowdy. Internment at Forest Hill cemetery.
