George W. Shawler
 
George Washington Shawler, 77,  retired farmer, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday in his home, 645 Wood street, Piqua, after an illness of only 20 minutes due to a heart attack.
 
Services wil be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Suber Funeral home in Fletcher, with Rev. R. Wobus officiating and burial in the Fletcher cemetery. 
 
Mr. Shawler was born Sept. 2, 1872, in Butler county, son of David and Rebecca J. Spunaugle Shawler, and was married Dec. 27, 1900, to Alma Ethel Reeder.  He had resided in Piqua for two years.  He was the last of seven children.
 
Surviving are his wife and the following children, Mrs. Fred Shultz, (Ruth) Piqua; Harry, R. R. Covington; Paul and Mrs. Paul Kemer (Agnes), Dayton; Mrs. David Apple, (Evra) Sidney; Kenneth, Sidney; Mrs. Ray Campbell, (Zelma), Rockville, Md; Mrs. Charles Brown, (Mary), Dayton; Walter and George, Piqua; Mrs. Clarence Snyder, (Mildred), Dayton; Roy Shawler, Piqua; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  One daughter preceded him in death.
 
He was a member of the Brush Creek Congregational Christian church.  Mr. Shawler before retirement had farmed in Miami, Greene and Shelby counties.
