ELDREDGE, ZELORA EATON - Hetzler's Corner--Zelora Eaton Eldredge, aged 60 years, one month and two days, died at his home in Orange township, Shelby county December 16, 1911, after an illness of only three days with pneumonia.  The deceased was twice married; first to Miss Mary Wise who bore him four children one dying in infancy.  In 1893 this companion was called to her home above.  In 1895 he united in marriage with Miss C. C. Lane who survives him.  Feb. 23, 1866, he made a profession of religion and united with the Springcreek Baptist church where he held his membership until death.  He was a member of the Orange I. O. O. F. lodge in Kirkwood.  He had filled various township offices and was now filling the office of township trustee.  Besides the widow he leaves one son and two daughters, Wm. Eldredge and Mrs. Ada Drake of Shelby county and Mrs. Estella Wright of Dayton, and four grandchildren.  His brothers and sisters now living are Dr. J. C. and Shelby Eldredge of south Shelby county, George Eldredge of Indianapolis, Mrs. Wm. Icenberger, Mrs. C. C. Hill and Mrs. Anna Holloway of Dayton.  Funeral service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Alby Kite, assisted by Rev. Wm. Icenberger of Dayton.  Burial in the McKinney cemetery north of Piqua.  The members of the Kirkwood lodge attended in a body and had charge of the funeral.  The large concourse of people who came to pay the last sad tribute of respect more than filled the house.  This added emphasis to the sentence of the obituary which said Mr. Eldredge was well respected by his neighbors and all who knew him.
