March 14, 1912 

KISER, WILLIAM D. - William D. Kiser, 75, a veteran of the Civil war, died Tuesday at his home in Brown township from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy.  He was found in bed breathing heavily by Mrs. Kiser.  He died before she could call a doctor.  His widow, three sons and four daughters survive.  He was a member of Company E. 44th O. V. I.  The funeral was held in the Fletcher Baptist church, Thursday afternoon.

KISER, WILLIAM DAYTON - Fletcher--William Dayton Kiser was born August 1, 1837, and departed this life March 12, 1912, aged 74 years, eight months and 12 days.  He was united in marriage with Sarah Ralston November 23, 1865, and to this union were born eight children, four daughters and four sons: Mrs. Emma Valentine of West Farmington, Mrs. Alice Dick of Lima, Mrs. Charles Emerick of Fletcher, Mrs. Grace Bear of Piqua; Henry, Edward, Frederick and James of Fletcher.  Mr. Kiser enlisted in Co. E, 44th Ohio Infantry, organized at Springfield in the fall of 1861, which took part in several severe engagements, serving three years.  He was born near Fletcher and lived in and near Fletcher all his life.  He leaves to mourn his departure the wife, a brother, sister and eight children.
