KYLE, WALTER M. - Never regaining consciousness Walter M. Kyle, whose serious illness was related in last week's issue of the Union, passed away at midnight last Thursday.  He had been in ill health for several months.  Mr. Kyle was the son of Lieutenant Colonel Barton S. Kyle, who was killed at the battle of Shiloh.  He was born in Troy, July 20, 1854, and was one of the most highly respected residents of the city.  He was married Nov. 20, 1879 to Miss Drusie Evans of Sidney.  The wife and an adopted daughter, Elizabeth, one brother, Thomas B. Kyle and two sisters, Miss Cordelia Kyle of Des Moines, Ia., and Mrs. Noah Yount of Troy, survive him.  Mr. Kyle was a bookkeeper by profession and was for several years employed at the Troy Buggy Works.  He served an unexpired term and one full term as postmaster of Troy being succeeded by the present incumbent.  His last position was as cashier of the Commercial bank of Troy, but for the past year or two he had been unable to be actively employed on account of ill health.  He was a member of the Methodist church holding an official position for a number of years.  He was also a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge and of Coleman Commandery Knights Templar.  As a man he was highly respected the esteem in which he was held being evidenced by the universal anxiety with which news was awaited of him when in temporary aberration he wandered away and later lay for days unconscious at his home.  The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the M. E. church and was attended by a large company which manifested sincere grief over his departure.  The service was conducted by Rev. D. S. Ferguson and music was furnished by the Masonic quartet Walter Briggs taking the place of T. B. Kyle, brother of the dead man.  Nearly a hundred members of Coleman Commandery were present.  Interment was made at Riverside cemetery.  Among those in attendance from a distance were: Miss Ethel Rhodehamel, of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Summerville, of Dayton, Mrs. Laura Randall, Henry Larr, of West Milton, Harry Carr, of Tipp City, Mr. and Mrs. John Yount of Covington, Mrs. F. A. Brewster, of Springfield, and Mrs. Mate Reed of Piqua.
