SCOTT, W. M. - W. M. Scott of Ellinwood, Kansas, a former resident of Troy, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dr. Lash, in that place, last Thursday.  The body was brought here and taken to the home of Samuel Scott on South Market street, where short funeral services were conducted by Dr. J. W. Clokey at 4 o'clock that afternoon.  The interment was in Riverside cemetery.  Mr. Scott was a brothers of S. S. and Robert Scott, Lizzie and Fannie Scott and Mrs. Margaret McCurdy, all of this place.  Besides the daughter, Mrs. Lash, he leaves two sons, Frank and John Scott.  He was 81 years of age and went to Iowa before the war, where he engaged in the millwright and carpenter business.  He served during the war in an Iowa regiment and then returned to Troy and finally located in Kansas.  Mr. Scott was a charter member of the Masonic lodge at Addison.  In his western city he served as a magistrate and for a time was postmaster.
