Troy Times - Veteran - Co. H, 11th Regiment, O. V. I.

April 28, 1864

PARTLOW, HIRAM P. - Mr. Hiram P. Partlow, of Troy, a member of Co. H, 11th Regiment, O. V. I, died in the military hospital, at Nashville, Tenn., of small pox, April 4th, 1864, in the 23d year of his age. He was a worthy man, and a true soldier. He enlisted in the first company that left Troy in response to the call for the term of three month's service, and afterward for three years. He was esteemed by his comrades for his manly bearing through all the vicissitudes of life in the army. He was looking forward, hopefully to the termination of the period of his enlistment, anticipating ______________________ and his time would have expired on the 20th of April, but disease, suffering and death came and released him from the warfare of earth. We trust he has passed to the peaceful home above. A young widow, and many friends are left to mourn the sacrifice of the great struggle of the nation.
